    Jain Stuti

    one year ago 451

In Jainism, Stuti refers to hymns or prayers of praise, typically offered to the Tirthankaras, Arihants, Siddhas, Acharyas, Upadhyayas, and Sadhus. These are recited to express reverence, seek inspiration, and cultivate devotion.

Here are some popular Jain Stutis:

    1. Namokar Mantra (Navkar Mantra)

This is the most revered and fundamental prayer in Jainism:

Translation: I bow to the Arihants (perfect beings), I bow to the Siddhas (liberated souls), I bow to the Acharyas (spiritual leaders), I bow to the Upadhyayas (spiritual teachers), I bow to all the Sadhus (saints) in the world. This five-fold salutation destroys all sins and is the most auspicious of all auspicious things.

    ---

    2. Bhaktamara Stotra

A famous Jain stuti composed by Acharya Manatunga in praise of Lord Adinath (Rishabhanatha), the first Tirthankara. It consists of 48 verses.

    Opening Verse:

Meaning: I bow first to Lord Jina (Adinath), the jewel of the three worlds, having infinite dispassion, infinite power, and adorned with infinite divine attributes.

    ---

    3. Uvasaggaharam Stotra

A prayer dedicated to Lord Parshvanath, the 23rd Tirthankara, believed to remove obstacles and difficulties.

    ---

Reciting these stutis with devotion is considered spiritually beneficial in Jainism, helping to cultivate virtues and progress on the path of liberation (moksha). If you are interested in a specific stuti or its detailed meaning, please let me know!
