Among Digambar Jains, some groups (like Khandelwal, Oswal, Porwal, Parwar, etc.) keep their own “84 gotra” or 12‑gotra lists, but: - Names and count of gotras change from community to community. - So there is no one “Digambar gotra list” valid for everyone.

1. Many Digambar families don’t actively use gotra

- In many regions, people know only surname, family name, and place (gaon / shehar). - Even if their ancestors had a gotra, present generation may not know or use it.

1. How to know your own gotra (if your family has one)

If you want the name of your personal Digambar Jain gotra, the only reliable way is: - Ask your grandparents / older relatives. - Check old marriage cards, family books (vahi), community registers. - Ask at your local Digambar Jain temple / sangh; some keep family‑wise records.

From the side of Jain Dharma, spiritual progress does not depend on gotra. What really matters is: right faith (samyak darshan), right knowledge, right conduct, ahimsā, and observing vows.
