“Achalgach” (Achal Gaccha / Anchal Gaccha / Vidhipaksh Gaccha) is a Śvetāmbara Murtipujak Jain gaccha (monastic order).

About its size:

• Historically:

When Acharya Āryarakṣitsuri reorganised this gaccha (around 11th century CE), traditional records mention about 3,500+ ascetics in his order – roughly 2,200 sadhus (monks) and 1,300 sadhvis (nuns). So in its peak historical phase, it was a very large and influential gaccha.

• Today (modern times):

Achalgach is one of the four main existing gacchas of the Śvetāmbara Murtipujak tradition. However, exact current numbers of monks, nuns and followers are not officially published, and different sources may give different estimates. So we can only say: - It is smaller than some very large gacchas like Tapāgaccha, - but still an established, active tradition with its own Acharya, monks, nuns and lay followers in various cities.

If by “how big” you meant geographical spread, Achalgach mainly has presence in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and some other parts of India, with local sanghs and derasars (temples) under this tradition.
