If im able to do intense meditation, practice austeriturs to shed all my karmas with shuddh samyaktva and do all this with everything else necessarily, why is it not possible for me to go to moksh in this bhav itself. Just because it is 5th aara , is it?

In Jain dharma, your question is very deep and very important.

Short answer according to Jain scriptures: In this 5th āra in Bharat kṣetra, even if someone wants to do all the highest sādhana, moksha is not possible from here in this time. This is not because the soul is weak, but because kāl‑chakra (time-cycle) itself does not allow the full conditions required for moksha.

    ---

    1. What is needed for moksha?

To go to moksha, the soul must:

    • Get kṣayik samyak darshan (permanent pure right faith)
    • Attain keval jñān (omniscience)
    • Reach 14th guṇasthān
    • Completely destroy all ghāti and aghāti karmas

Jain śāstras say that for this, some external and internal conditions must come together:

    • Very pure environment, very high lifespan, very strong body and tapas‑shakti
    • Presence of tīrthankar / kevalī and strong dharma‑sangh supporting the highest conduct
    • Very special type of āyu karma, gotra, nāma karma, etc. maturing in a particular way

All these do not arise in Bharat kṣetra in the 5th āra.

    ---

    2. What is special about 5th āra?

In the 5th āra (pancham kāl) of avasarpinī in Bharat kṣetra:

    • No tīrthankar takes birth
    • No new kevalī arises
    • Moksha‑mārg exists in scriptures and as partial conduct, but
    - The full param-pariṇāmi tapas, - The purest conduct of 13th–14th guṇasthān, do not actually manifest here in this time.

So the statement in śāstras is:

    > In this 5th āra of Bharat kṣetra, > no soul goes to moksha from here.

Theoretically you are saying: “If I can do intense meditation, austerities, shuddh samyaktva, destroy all karmas, then why not moksha?”

Jain answer is: Exactly this full level of destruction of all karmas cannot actually occur in 5th āra in Bharat. The kāl (time‑period) itself blocks that highest pinnacle, even if we imagine it in thought.

    ---

    3. But then is my effort useless?

    Not at all.

What is possible in this 5th āra?

    • Getting samyak darshan (right faith) – yes, possible
    • Reaching higher guṇasthāns up to certain levels – possible according to tradition
    • Doing great tapa, meditation, brahmacharya, aparigraha – possible
    • Massively reducing karma, creating very high future birth, especially:
    - Birth as a high‑level śrāvaka/muni - Birth in Mahāvideh kṣetra, where tīrthankars are present right now and moksha is actually possible

So your intense sādhana in this very bhav can absolutely:

    • Bring you to very high spiritual stage now, and
    • Prepare you so that in a next bhav, in right place + right time (like Mahāvideh) you complete the final steps and attain moksha.

    ---

    4. Why is moksha possible in Mahāvideh now but not here?

    According to Jain cosmology:

    • In Mahāvideh kṣetra, even now:
    - There are always living tīrthankars present - Full moksha‑mārg is active - Souls can and do attain keval jñān and moksha
    • In Bharat kṣetra, 5th āra:
    - No living tīrthankar - No new kevalī - Moksha-door is “closed” from this land in this era, though dharma still exists at a lower level.

So the limitation is not on your soul, but on the kāl + kṣetra (time + place) combination.

    ---

    5. How to look at it practically?

    If you are really doing:

    • Deep meditation (bhāva‑tapa, dhyān)
    • Strong external and internal austerities
    • With śuddh samyaktva
    • And following ahiṃsā, satya, brahmacharya, aparigraha, forgiveness, humility etc.

    Then according to Jain dharma:

    • You are speeding up karma‑shed
    • You are preparing very near‑future moksha, just not from this Bharat‑5th‑āra directly
    • Your current bhav becomes extremely precious, because it can be the final or near‑final preparation life leading to:
    - Birth where moksha is actually possible, and then - Nirvāṇa from there.

More on moksha in very simple terms is explained here: You can read more here

    ---

    So, in pure Jain view:

    • Your effort is 100% meaningful, powerful and spiritually effective.
    • Moksha in this very bhav from Bharat‑5th‑āra is not possible, not because of lack of effort, but because kāl‑niyama (law of time) does not allow it.
    • But the same effort can make you very close to moksha, so that in the right future birth, you surely attain it.
