Short, clear answer: - A soul that is born in the 4th āra (chautha kāl) but does not attain moksh in that same 4th āra cannot attain moksh later in the 5th āra from Bhārat Kṣetra (our land). Reason in simple terms: 1. Moksh is possible only where and w
In Jain siddhānt, the point is actually very clear and both Digambar and Śvetāmbara agree:
- Moksh depends on place + time, not on when you first took birth.
Liberation is possible only where: - Tirthankars / Kevalī Bhagwāns arise, and - The time-period (ārā / kāl) is suitable (for our avasarpinī, that means 3rd and 4th ārā in Bhārat–Airāvat).
- In the present 5th ārā (Pañcham Kāl) of Bhārat and Airāvat:
- No new Tirthankar is born, - No new Kevalī arises, - Therefore, no soul can attain moksh from Bhārat or Airāvat in this 5th ārā. This is the standard teaching in both traditions.
- So for a soul born in the 4th ārā in Bhārat:
- If it attained kevaljnān and moksh before the 4th ārā ended, it became Siddha from Bhārat. - If it did not attain moksh before the end of 4th ārā, then: - From 5th ārā onward it cannot get moksh from Bhārat, - It can still do intense sādhana, samvar–nirjarā, and strong punya here, - And then, in a future suitable kṣetra/ārā (for example Mahāvideh Kṣetra or a future good ārā), it can finally attain moksh there.
So:
- No moksh from Bhārat in 5th ārā, even for a soul that started in 4th ārā.
- Yes, that same jīv can ultimately attain moksh later, but only from another suitable place/time, not from Bhārat in Pañcham Kāl.
