HOW TO MAKE JAIN SHRAWAK CARD
“Jain Shravak Card” is not a standard scriptural requirement, it is a modern / social thing. But many sanghs make such cards for identity and for reminding Shravak‑dharma.
Here is a simple, Jain‑dharmic way to make it:
---
1. Decide the Purpose
First be clear why you want the card:
- For identity in a Jain sangh / mandal?
- For benefits (library, bhojanshala, tirth yatra group, etc.)?
- For spiritual reminder (vows, daily niyam written on card)?
This will decide what you print on it.
---
2. Basic Information to Print
On front side you can keep:
- Sangh / Mandal Name
- E.g. “Shri Shwetambar Jain Shravak Sangh, [City]” - Or “Shri Digambar Jain Samaj, [City]”
- Shravak’s Details
- Full Name - Father / Husband’s Name (optional) - Address / City - Mobile Number - Blood Group (useful in emergencies) - Membership / Card Number (if your sangh maintains records)
- Photo & Signature
- Small passport photo - Signature of shravak - Signature / stamp of sangh authority (President / Secretary / Acharya‑approved sangh, etc.)
---
3. Add Jain Spiritual Content
On back side you can add things that remind of dharma:
- Short Dharmic Line (any one)
- “अहिंसा परमो धर्म:” - “सम्यक् दर्शन – सम्यक् ज्ञान – सम्यक् चारित्र” - “जीवो दया वृत्ति” (live with compassion)
- Basic Shravak Vows (Saanket Roop)
You can list short points like: - पंच अणुव्रत
On card just write headings, e.g.: “मैं जैन श्रावक रूप में – पंच अणुव्रत, तीन गुणव्रत, चार शिक्षा व्रत का यथाशक्ति पालन करने का संकल्प रखता हूँ।”
- Daily Niyam Reminder (very short)
- “प्रतिदिन – • देव‑गुरु‑धर्म पूजन • कम से कम 15 मिनिट स्वाध्याय / पाठ • भोजन में सावधानी (अहिंसक, दिन में, छानकर, आदि)”
Keep text very short so it fits nicely.

4. Design & Size
- Size: Like ATM card – 86 mm × 54 mm (standard visiting card / ID card size).
- Material:
- Colors:
---
5. Data Management for Sangh (If Official Card)
If this will be an official Shravak card of a sangh, then:
- Maintain a register / Excel sheet:
- Card number - Name, Address, Mobile - Date of issue / renewal
- Decide rules:
- Who can get card? (Jain only, minimum age, etc.) - Validity period (1 year, 3 years, lifetime, etc.) - What to do if card is lost?
- Get approval:
- From local Jain leaders / Guru Bhagwant (if possible) so that the card is respected and used properly.
---
6. Printing Steps (Practical)
- Draft content on computer (Word / Canva / any design tool).
- Arrange front & back design.
- Take to local printing press / ID card printer:
- Tell them: “Double side color print, lamination / PVC card.”
- Check proof copy carefully:
- Spelling of Jain terms - Name of Tirthankara / Sangh correct - Photos clear
- After approval, print for all Shravaks.
---
7. Spiritual Use (Most Important)
Card itself is not a spiritual achievement. Use it to:
- Remind yourself: “I am a Jain Shravak – I must live with Ahimsa, Satya, Aparigraha, Samyak Darshan.”
- Keep it in your purse and see it daily, like a small nimit for dharma‑smaran.
- When showing card to others, stay humble – no ego, only responsibility toward dharma.
---
If you tell me:
- Which tradition (Digambar / Shwetambar), and
- Whether it is for one family, one sangh, or whole city,
then based on that you can adjust names, logo, and the vows printed.
