Can you show me all Tirthankars along with their sign and photo

    7 months ago 231

Here is a simple list of all 24 Tirthankars with their main sign (lanchhan / symbol).

I cannot directly show photos inside this chat, but you can easily find images of each Tirthankar with their symbol together in Jain photo books, temple charts, or on Jain websites.

24 Tirthankars and their signs (lanchhan)

    1. Rishabhdev (Adinath) – Bull
    2. Ajitnath – Elephant
    3. Sambhavnath – Horse
    4. Abhinandan Swami – Monkey
    5. Sumatinath – Goose / Heron (Śvetāmbars often show a bird like heron; Digambars generally say goose)
    6. Padmaprabhu – Lotus
    7. Suparshvanath – Swastika
    8. Chandraprabhu – Moon
    9. Suvidhinath (Pushpadant) – Crocodile
    10. Shitalnath – Kalpavriksha (wish‑fulfilling tree); Śvetāmbars sometimes show Śrīvatsa mark
    11. Shreyansnath – Rhinoceros
    12. Vasupujya Swami – Buffalo
    13. Vimalnath – Boar (pig)
    14. Anantnath – Falcon / Hawk (many Digambar sources); some Śvetāmbars mention Porcupine
    15. Dharmanath – Vajra (thunderbolt)
    16. Shantinath – Deer / Antelope
    17. Kunthunath – Goat
    18. Aranath – Fish
    19. Mallinath – Kalash (water pot)
    20. Munisuvrat Swami – Tortoise
    21. Naminath – Blue Lotus
    22. Neminath (Aristanemi) – Conch (shankh)
    23. Parshvanath – Snake (many‑hooded serpent over the head)
    24. Mahavir Swami – Lion

These symbols are used below or near the idol to identify which Tirthankar it is.

For a clean chart (text) of Tirthankars with their symbols, given in simple form, you can read more here:

For photos, you can search images by typing, for example: “Rishabhdev bull symbol”, “Ajitnath elephant symbol”, etc., or visit Jain photo galleries and temple sites, where all 24 are usually shown together with their lanchhan.
