EVEN HINDUISM SAYS ANYONE CAN ATTAIN GOD REFER GITA 9:32

    7 months ago 119

In Jainism, the principle is actually very similar in spirit:

Every soul (jīva) has the capacity to become perfectly pure and liberated. No one is excluded by birth, caste, gender, community, or background.

Key Jain points (both Śvetāmbara and Digambar accept the essence):

    1. All jīvas are equal in potential

    - Every soul is, by nature, anant-jñān, anant-darshan, anant-sukha, anant-vīrya (infinite knowledge, perception, bliss, and energy). - Because of karmic bondage, this purity is covered, but the potential is always there for every soul. ( jainknowledge.com)

    1. Any soul can attain mokṣa

    - Jain teachings clearly state: every jīva can attain mokṣa when all karmas are completely destroyed. ( jainknowledge.com) - There is no idea that some souls are “created” only to serve or suffer forever; all can become siddha (liberated soul).

    1. Difference in terminology: “God” vs “Liberated Soul”

    - In many Hindu texts, “attain God” means reaching or uniting with a supreme God. - In Jainism, there is no creator God; the highest stage is siddha – a soul completely free from karma, residing forever at Siddhaśilā. ( jainknowledge.com) - So where Gītā 9.32 says anyone can attain God, Jainism says: “Anyone can attain keval-jñān and then mokṣa; the highest state is of the Arihant and Siddha.”

    1. Practical condition in the present time

    - Jainism adds a technical cosmological point: in our current era (5th āra) in Bhārat Kṣetra, no new Kevalins or mokṣa occur here, but souls can progress so that in a future birth (e.g., in Mahāvideha Kṣetra) they complete the path and attain mokṣa. ( jainknowledge.com) - So ability is universal, but time‑place conditions for final liberation differ.

    1. Path is open to all who follow Ratnatraya

    - Right Faith (samyak darshan) - Right Knowledge (samyak jñān) - Right Conduct (samyak chāritra) ( jainknowledge.com)

So from a Jain perspective, your main point stands very well: Just as you cite Gītā 9:32 to say “anyone can attain God,” Jain Dharma says every soul, without exception, can attain the highest spiritual state by destroying karma and realizing its own pure nature.
