    Had anyone attained Arihant padvi

    7 months ago 124

    Yes.

In our current time-cycle (avasarpinī), many souls have already attained Arihant padvi (state of Arihant).

    Key points in simple terms:

    1. Who is an Arihant?

    - A soul who has destroyed the four ghāti karmas (knowledge‑obscuring, perception‑obscuring, deluding, and obstructing karmas). - Has attained keval‑jñān (omniscience). - Still has a body, so is not yet a Siddha.

    1. Examples of beings who attained Arihant padvi

    - All 24 Tirthankars of this avasarpinī: Ṛṣabhdev, Ajitnath, Sambhavnath, Abhinandannath, Sumatinath, Padmaprabhu, Suparshvanath, Chandraprabhu, Pushpadant (Suvidhinath), Shitalnath, Shreyansnath, Vāsupujya, Vimalnath, Anantnath, Dharmanath, Shantinath, Kunthunath, Aranath, Mallinath, Munisuvratswami, Naminath, Neminath, Pārshvanath, Mahavir Swami. - Many other Kevalis (omniscients) mentioned in scriptures also attained Arihant padvi (e.g., Gautam Swami, Jambu Swami, etc.).

    1. Present status (very important):

    - According to Jain scriptures, on our Bharat kṣetra, right now there is no living Arihant. - The last Arihant in Bharat kṣetra was Jambu Swami. After him, no new Arihant will arise in this remaining part of the current half‑time‑cycle. - However, in Mahāvideh kṣetra, Arihants (Tirthankars) are present even now.

    1. Future in this time-cycle:

    - For the rest of this current avasarpinī in Bharat kṣetra, no new soul will attain Arihant padvi. - In the next time‑cycle (utsarpinī / future cycles), again new Arihants and Tirthankars will arise.
