“Gangerwal” (often written Gangerawal / Gangwal etc.) is:

• Not a Jain scriptural term and has no special meaning in Jain Agamas.
• Used only as a surname / family or clan name (gotra) in some Jain communities, mainly as a social identifier.
• It does not affect spiritual status, punya–paap, or progress on the path in either Digambar or Shwetambar tradition.

So, in Jainism it simply indicates family lineage, not a religious or philosophical concept, and there is no fixed, universally accepted “meaning” of the word in Jain Dharma.
