In Jainism, the answer is very different from “God created humans.”

1. No creator, no first human

- Jain Dharma says the universe has no beginning and no end. - Souls (jiva) and matter (ajiva) are eternal – they were never created. - So there is no first day when a god created humans or the world.

1. Souls take birth again and again

- Every living being is actually a soul covered with karma. - Because of its own karma, a soul can take birth as: - human, - animal/plant/micro‑organism, - heavenly being (deva), - hell being (naraki). - So a soul becomes “human” when it gets a human body due to its karma. - Before that birth it was something else, and after death it will again be something else, depending on karma.

1. How did humans appear on earth then?

Jain texts explain time in endless cycles (kalachakra – Utsarpini & Avasarpini). In each cycle, conditions of the world change: - Sometimes humans are very tall, long‑lived, very happy. - Sometimes short‑lived, weak, with much suffering (like now). But at no point does a god “start” humans; humans are just one form that souls keep taking in every cycle.

1. Role of God in Jainism

- Jainism does not accept a creator‑God who makes humans or gives them happiness/sorrow. ( jainknowledge.com) - But it does accept perfect beings (Arihant, Siddha) who are called “Bhagwan” – they are liberated souls, not creators. - We respect and worship them because they show the path to liberation, not because they created us.

1. Simple way to remember

- No one created your soul – it is beginningless and eternal. - Your human birth is the result of your own past karma. - The universe and living beings continuously exist and change; there is no single starting point.
