    jain girl marry to hindu

    6 months ago 254

In Jain Dharma, a Jain girl can marry a Hindu boy (or vice‑versa). Jain scriptures do not strictly forbid such a marriage. Marriage is seen mainly as a social/householder (gṛhastha) arrangement, not a ritual for moksha.

But there are some important points to think about:

    1. Religious view (Jain side)

    - No direct ban on marrying a non‑Jain. - Main concern: Will Jain principles be respected in daily life? - Ahimsa (strict non‑violence, pure vegetarian food, usually no eggs, alcohol, etc.) - Satya (truthfulness), brahmacharya (fidelity), aparigraha (simple living).

    1. Family and community

    - Many Jain families prefer a Jain partner so that: - Jain rituals, fasting, temple visits, and festivals can continue easily. - Children can be brought up clearly in Jain way. - This is social custom, not scriptural compulsion.

    1. Things you both should discuss clearly before marriage

    - Food: Will the home be strictly vegetarian? Root vegetables? Alcohol? - Religious practice: Jain puja, Paryushan/Das Lakshan, pratikraman, etc. - Children: Will they be raised mainly Jain, mainly Hindu, or with both traditions? - Ceremony: Jain style, Hindu style, civil, or a simple combination.

    1. Practical Jain guidance

    - From Jain point of view, such a marriage is acceptable if: - Both partners respect Jain values. - The non‑Jain partner does not obstruct ahimsa-based life. - The couple tries to keep life simple, non‑violent and truthful.
