Shrenik bhul thi chalna na badle kaune layi gayo

    one year ago 251

Shrenik Maharaja (also known as King Shrenik or Bimbisara) was a famous royal devotee during the time of Lord Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara in Jainism. According to Jain scriptures, King Shrenik was a staunch follower of Lord Mahavira, but due to some karmic bondage (particularly his intense attachment and certain actions), he could not attain liberation (moksha) in that lifetime.

Jain texts mention that after his death, King Shrenik was reborn as a hellish being (Naraka), not because of a specific "bhul thi chalna" (mistake in conduct) alone, but due to accumulated karma, including actions like violence committed during his reign and a particular incident in which he harbored anger and violent intent.

The Jain tradition explains that Chandraprabha Yaksha—a divine attendant—took King Shrenik to Naraka (hell) after his death, as per the effects of his karma. His story is given as an example of how even great devotees must be vigilant about karma and that attachment, anger, and violence can lead to unfavorable rebirths, regardless of one’s devotion.

In summary: After his death, Shrenik was taken to Naraka (hell) due to karma, and according to Jain tradition, the Yaksha (divine being) associated with this role is Chandraprabha Yaksha.
