My surname is Aherkar i am saitwal jain i want to know my gotra

In Jain Dharma, “gotra” in the spiritual sense usually refers to gunasthānak (like Dev-gotra, Narak-gotra, etc. of the soul), but in common social use people also ask about kul / vansh / gotra by family or caste.

    However:

    • Gotra of a person or family (like which rishi / kul you belong to) is not decided by surname alone.
    • Within the Saitwal Jain community, there are many surnames and many kul / gotra lines, and they are usually known only through:
    - Old family records - Community registers - Information passed down by elders (grandparents, family priests, etc.) - Sometimes by local Saitwal Jain sangh records

As an AI, I cannot see your personal family lineage, so I cannot reliably tell you your gotra just from “Aherkar” and “Saitwal Jain”. If I try to guess, it may be wrong, and that would be disrespectful and misleading.

    What you can practically do:

    1. Ask elders in your family

    - Parents, grandparents, kaka/mama, etc. often know the traditional gotra / kul. - Sometimes it is mentioned in old marriage invitations, lagna-patra, or family books.

    1. Check with your local Saitwal Jain sangh / mandal

    - Many communities keep a list of families, surnames, and traditional gotra/kul.

    1. Look into old religious or family documents

    - Old janm patrika, lagna-patrika, or genealogy books may mention gotra.

From the point of view of Jain Dharma, the most important identity is:

    • You are a jiva (soul),
    • Capable of following samyak darshan, samyak jnan, samyak charitra,
    • Moving towards moksha,
    more than any social gotra.

But if you want your family gotra for marriage or tradition, you will need to get it from family/community records, not from an online guess.
