Are jains full of anger
In Jainism, no community is labeled as “full of anger.”
What we say is:
- Every soul has the potential for anger (krodh) and other passions.
- Jain dharma teaches us to reduce and finally remove anger, because it is one of the four main kashayas (passions):
Anger is seen as a big enemy of the soul because:
- It destroys peace and forgiveness.
- It leads to himsa (violence) by mind, speech, and body.
- It binds heavy karma and keeps the soul in birth–death. ( jainknowledge.com)
So, an ideal Jain tries to:
- Practice kshama (forgiveness),
- Do samayik, pratikraman, and meditate,
- Control kashayas step by step. ( jainknowledge.com)
If you see some Jains who get angry, it means:
- They are still under the influence of kashayas (like most of us),
- But their own religion is actually teaching them to recognize that anger and overcome it.
