    NAME ARHIANT BHAGVAN

    6 months ago 139

“Arihant Bhagwan” is a very important term in Jain Dharma.

    Meaning of “Arihant”

    • Ari = enemies
    • Hant = destroyer
So Arihant means “the destroyer of inner enemies”.

    These enemies are:

    • krodh (anger)
    • maan (pride)
    • māyā (deceit)
    • lobh (greed)
and all karmas that cover the soul’s pure nature.

    Who is Arihant Bhagwan?

    Arihant Bhagwan is:

    • A living kevali (one who has attained Keval Jnan – perfect knowledge)
    • Has destroyed all ghātiya karmas (knowledge‑covering, perception‑covering, deluding, energy‑obstructing karmas)
    • Still has a physical body, so is present in some loka (like Mahavideh Kshetra)
    • Is vitarag – completely free from attachment and hatred
    • Is a Tirthankar if he also establishes the Jain Sangh (fourfold order)

After the end of that life, Arihant Bhagwan becomes Siddha Bhagwan (liberated soul) in Siddha Shila.

    Examples (for understanding)

    • In our present time (Bharat Kshetra), Bhagwan Mahavir was Arihant Bhagwan when he attained Keval Jnan. After nirvana, he is Siddha.
    • In Mahavideh Kshetra, there are living Tirthankar Arihants like Simandhar Swami (according to Jain tradition).

    Short summary

Arihant Bhagwan = the soul who, by destroying inner enemies and ghātiya karmas, has attained Keval Jnan and is completely vitarag, but still has a body.

If you tell me what exactly you want (meaning, list of Tirthankars, or difference between Arihant and Siddha), I can explain that part in more detail.
