In Jainism, honey should not be used in Panchamrit.
Traditionally, Panchamrit is a mix of five items:
- Milk
- Curd (yogurt)
- Ghee
- Sugar
- Honey
But according to Jain principles of ahimsa (non‑violence):
- Honey is strictly avoided because obtaining honey involves great violence to countless tiny living beings (bees and micro‑organisms).
