In Jainism there are:

• 24 Tirthankars in every half-cycle of time (each avasarpini and each utsarpini).
• In our current half-cycle (this avasarpini), there are 24 Tirthankars, from Shri Rishabhdev (Adinath) to Shri Mahavir Swami (24th).

Because time-cycles go on forever, there have been infinite Tirthankars in total over infinite past cycles, and there will be infinite in the future – but only 24 in each half-cycle.

Both Digambar and Shvetambar traditions fully agree on this number (24 per half-cycle).
