In Jainism, Uttaradhyayan refers to one of the most important scriptures of the Śvētāmbara Jain tradition. The word "Uttaradhyayan" is derived from two Sanskrit words: "uttara" meaning "last" or "final," and "adhyayan" meaning "lesson" or "chapter." Thus, Uttaradhyayan literally means "the final lessons" or "last teachings."

The Uttaradhyayana Sutra contains 36 chapters and is considered to be a collection of the last sermons delivered by Lord Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara. The scripture addresses various aspects of Jain philosophy, ethics, conduct, and spiritual practice, offering practical guidance for monks, nuns, and lay followers.

It is highly revered in Jain tradition for its teachings on right conduct (samyak charitra), non-violence (ahimsa), truthfulness (satya), and the path to liberation (moksha).
