Do Bhandia gotr trace back to Rajputs
In Jain community tradition:
- Bhandia (also written Bhandsali / Bhansali, etc.) is a sub‑gotra of the Śrīmal (Shrimal) Oswal Jains.
- The Oswal and Shrimal Jain communities are generally understood, in our own Jain historical literature, to come from old Kshatriya / Rajput lineages of Rajasthan (Bhati and other Rajput clans) who later accepted Jain dharma and became Vaiśya (merchant) by profession.
So, in terms of traditional Jain gotra history, yes – Bhandia gotra is traced back to Rajput (Kshatriya) ancestors who later became Jain Oswal / Shrimal.
Do keep in mind:
- This is community and Jain‑granth based history, not something that can always be proved like modern records.
- Spiritually, Jain acharyas always stress that jāti–gotra is secondary, right faith and non‑violence are primary.
