Jain Dharma was not “made” or “founded” by any one person.

1. Jain Dharma is eternal (anādi–ananta)

- It has no beginning and no end. - It is a natural law of the soul, karma, and the universe. - Just like gravity is not created by anyone, Jain principles like ahimsa (non-violence), satya (truth), aparigraha (non‑possessiveness) are eternal truths.

1. Tirthankars do not “create” Jain Dharma – they rediscover and teach it

- In every time-cycle, many souls become Tirthankar and reveal this eternal dharma again when it is forgotten. - They show the correct path to liberation (moksha), but they are not “founders” in the worldly sense.

1. In our current time-cycle:

- 1st Tirthankar: Bhagwan Rishabhdev (Adinath) – first to re-establish Jain Dharma in this avasarpini (descending time cycle). - 24th Tirthankar: Bhagwan Mahavir Swami – the most recent Tirthankar who revived and re-organized Jain Dharma about 2,500+ years ago. Many people mistakenly call him “founder,” but in Jain view he is a reviver / expounder, not creator.

So, the precise Jain answer is:

• No one made Jain Dharma.
• It is eternal.
• Tirthankars like Rishabhdev and Mahavir Swami periodically rediscover and teach it to the world.
