Angavijja Vasudevahindi Rishibhāṣita Dhūrtākhyāna Dravya Pariksha Paumachariya Samayasara Pravachanasara Kuvalayamala Samaraichcha-kaha give two lines details for these literary works

Here are brief, two‑line descriptions of each work, in very simple language:

    1. Aṅgavijjā (Angavijja)

An early Jain work in Prakrit on the “science” of reading body‑signs, gestures, voice, dreams and omens. It shows how people in ancient times tried to predict events, and also preserves much information about old Jain and Indian life.

    1. Vāsudevahiṇḍī (Vasudevahindi)

A Jain narrative in Prakrit describing the travels and adventures of Vasudeva (Krishna’s father) with many related stories. It reshapes older popular tales in a Jain way, stressing dharma, karma and the work of Jain monks and nuns.

    1. Ṛṣibhāṣita (Rishibhāṣita)

A collection of wise sayings and teachings attributed to Jain ṛṣis (sages). It is used to teach right faith, morality and detachment in very short, memorable statements.

    1. Dhūrtākhyāna (Dhūrtākhyāna)

A Jain story‑collection about “tricksters” and clever but deceitful people. Through these tales it shows how cheating and wrong conduct bring bad karma and suffering.

    1. Dravya‑Parīkṣā (Dravya Pariksha) – by Ācārya Nemichandra

A short philosophical text explaining and examining the six fundamental substances (dravya) of Jainism. It teaches how true understanding of soul, matter, karma, space, time and dharmādharmā helps right faith and liberation.

    1. Paumacariya (Paumachariya / Paumacariyam) – by Vimalasūri

The earliest Jain “Rāmāyaṇa” in Maharashtri Prakrit, retelling Rāma’s story as “Padma” in a fully Jain way. Here Rāma is a non‑violent Balabhadra, Lakṣmaṇa kills Rāvaṇa, and finally Rāma renounces and attains moksha.

    1. Samayasāra (Samayasara) – by Ācārya Kundakunda (Digambar tradition)

One of the most important Digambar Jain texts, teaching the pure nature of the soul from the nishchaya (real) standpoint. It shows that the true self is pure knowledge and bliss, separate from body, karma and passions.

    1. Pravacanasāra (Pravachanasara) – by Ācārya Kundakunda (Digambar tradition)

“Essence of the Scripture”, summarizing right faith, right knowledge and right conduct, and finally the pure standpoint of the soul. It guides the seeker from external religion towards inner realization and steady self‑awareness.

    1. Kuvalayamālā (Kuvalayamala) – by Uddyotanasūri

A long narrative (campū) work in Jain Māhārāṣṭrī Prakrit mixing prose and verse, with many stories and detailed descriptions. Through the lives and rebirths of its characters, it teaches Jain doctrine, karma, and the path to liberation.

    1. Samaraiccakahā / Samaraīkaha (Samaraichcha-kaha) – by Haribhadra Sūri

A didactic Jain romance in Prakrit about Prince Samara, his wanderings, and his spiritual progress. It uses attractive stories to show the value of right faith, non‑violence, restraint and final renunciation.
