What was population during adinath bhagwan time
Jain scriptures do not give any exact number for the human population in the time of Bhagwan Ādināth (Rishabhdev).
What we can say from Jain granths is:
- Ādināth Bhagwan was born in the very early part of the current time-cycle (avasarpinī), when:
- He ruled over a very large kingdom (Bharat Kshetra), with countless subjects (anant, asankhyeya) – this means “innumerable”, not a fixed number like we use in modern population statistics.
- Jain texts focus on dharma, conduct, and spiritual progress, not on historical-demographic details like exact population count.
So, according to authentic Jain view:
- We do not know the exact population in Ādināth Bhagwan’s time.
- Any specific number (like “so many millions or billions”) would be speculation, not based on Jain scriptures.
