In Jain geography (Jain cosmology):

• Jambudweep is the central continent.
• At its exact center stands Mount Meru (Sumeru).
• The Sun, Moon, planets, constellations and stars all move in circular paths around Mount Meru.

According to Jain descriptions, the Sun is at a distance of about 1,121 yojans from Mount Meru (this same distance is given for all the “jyotishi” – Sun, Moon, planets, etc., from Meru).

So, very simply:

• Reference point: center of Jambudweep = Mount Meru
• Distance of Sun from that center: ≈ 1,121 yojans

If you wanted:

• The diameter of Jambudweep itself is 100,000 yojans, so our Bharat Kshetra is far to the south of Meru, and the Sun is revolving high above and around Meru, not just over Bharat alone.
