- Entry & Basic Procedure
- Entry is free. - Anyone coming with respect is generally allowed (Jain / non‑Jain). - Usual steps after entering: 1. Remove footwear outside the Derasar area. 2. Maintain silence; switch mobile to silent. 3. Do Namaskar to Tirthankar Bhagwan from a little distance first. 4. If you know Jain pūjā / darshan vidhi, you may do it; otherwise simple folded-hands prayer (Namokar Mantra, etc.) is enough. 5. Sit quietly for a few minutes of prarthana / meditation.
- Dress Code & Maryādā (Respectful Conduct)
- Wear modest, clean clothes (shoulders, knees covered). - Avoid shorts, sleeveless, very tight or revealing clothes. - Avoid leather belts/purses/shoes inside the derasar area as far as possible. - Do not bring food inside; strictly no non‑veg, eggs, alcohol, tobacco anywhere near the temple. - Speak softly; do not run, shout, or take phone calls inside. - Photography is usually discouraged inside; if you are unsure, ask the sevak / volunteer there.
- Special Notes for Ladies
- As per normal Jain maryādā, ladies in monthly cycle are requested not to enter the garbhagṛih / main derasar. When in doubt, follow your usual community practice.
- During Festivals (Paryushan, Mahavir Jayanti etc.)
- Derasar may be more crowded and timings slightly extended. - There may be pravachan, bhakti, and special pūjā. - On such days, go a little early and keep extra time for security / lift / crowd.
- If You Are New / Tourist
- You can simply go, say “Jai Jinendra” to the person at the entrance or inside, and politely say: - “I am visiting for darshan, please guide me what is allowed here.” - The local Jain community in Dubai is generally very warm and will guide you with love.
This is all you need for a respectful, peaceful visit to the Jain Mandir in Dubai. Jai Jinendra.
