What we say during jain jal abhishek in digambar give me specific strot

    6 months ago 145

In Digambar tradition, during Jal Abhishek on the Jina idol, people usually recite basic Jain stotras rather than one fixed, mandatory “Jal‑abhishek stotra.” The most common and safe texts to use are:

    ---

    1. Navkār Mantra (Namokār Mantra)

This is the main and best mantra to recite continuously while pouring water:

    ॐ नमो अरिहंताणं। नमो सिद्धाणं। नमो आयरियाणं। नमो उवज्झायाणं। नमो लोए सव्वसाहूणं।।

You can keep doing abhishek simply by repeating this mantra.

    ---

    2. Logassa Stotra (short start, commonly used in Digambar)

Many Digambar Jains also recite लोगस्स during or after abhishek:

    णमो अरिहंताणं, णमो सिद्धाणं, णमो आयरियाणं, णमो उवज्झायाणं, णमो लोए सव्वसाहूणं।

(Then continue full Logassa if you know it; even this much is OK during Jal Abhishek.)

    ---

    3. Jinendra Vandana / Jin Stuti (simple form)

Some people like to say a short praise while starting abhishek, for example:

    अरिहंत सिद्धाचार्योपाध्याय सर्वसाधु भगवान्‌ की अनंत उपकार भावपूर्वक वंदना।

    Or very simply:

    जय जिनेन्द्र, सिद्धं शरणं पव्वज्जामि।

    ---

    4. Practical suggestion

For Digambar Jal Abhishek, if you want something specific and traditional:

    1. Stand with shuddhata (clean body, clean clothes, clean mind).
    2. Begin with 3 times Navkār Mantra.
    3. While pouring water continuously, keep reciting:

    - Navkār Mantra, or - Navkār + starting lines of Logassa, or - Any Digambar-approved stavan of that Bhagwan (e.g., Parshvanath, Mahavir, etc.) if your family/temple uses it.

There is no scriptural requirement that only one special “Jal Abhishek stotra” must be used; Navkār Mantra is always correct and best.
