    NAVKAR so tile at ahmedabad

    6 months ago 110

If you are asking about “Navkar mantra tiles” (tiles with Navkar written on them) available in Ahmedabad, then from the point of view of Jain Dharma this needs a lot of care:

    1. Navkar Mantra is very sacred

    - It is a bowing to Panch‑Parmeshthi (Arihant, Siddha, Acharya, Upadhyaya, Sadhu). - It should always be kept at a high, clean and respectful place.

    1. Not suitable for floor tiles

    - Any place where people walk with shoes, sit, or where dirt comes, is not appropriate for Navkar. - So using Navkar on flooring tiles, bathroom tiles, or any area that may become dirty is against the bhāv of respect in both Digambar and Shwetambar traditions.

    1. Where it is acceptable

    - If someone wants, they may keep Navkar written on a wall in a clean, worship area: - Ghabharo / temple room - Pooja room wall - Above eye level, not touched by feet or made dirty - Even then, it should be written or printed in a clean, simple, non‑decorative way, with full shraddhā.

    1. About Ahmedabad shops

    - Many shops may sell such tiles as “decorative items,” but as Jains we must check: - Will this go on the floor? - Will it be near a washbasin / bathroom / public area? - If there is any chance of disrespect, it is better not to buy or use such tiles at all.

    1. Better alternative

    - Instead of Navkar tiles, you can: - Keep a small framed Navkar Mantra photo in your pooja room. - Recite Navkar daily with understanding and devotion – this is the real honour.
