If studying in hostel, the food is not available in jain and also can't request or they don't make jain food, also important to study in that hostel also no another hotel nearby

You are in a very real and practical difficulty. Let’s look at it step‑by‑step from Jain drishti and also practically, without guilt but with sincerity.

    ---

    1. First principle: Do your best possible, not the perfect impossible

In Jain Dharma, intention (bhāv) and effort (prayatna) are very important.

    • If you cannot get pure Jain food due to strong circumstances (hostel rules, no hotels, no tiffin, parents far away), this is called a kind of anupādhik paristithi – a compulsive situation.
    • In such a case, you should:
    - Avoid as much himsā as you realistically can. - Mentally remain humble, do pratikraman for unavoidable faults. - Keep your study and future life also in view – because good study can later help you live a more independent and dhārmic life.

You are not doing this out of laziness, but out of compulsion – that makes a big difference karmically.

    ---

    2. Practical food choices in the hostel

Even if they don’t make “Jain food”, usually there are still better and worse options. Try to move step‑by‑step towards less himsā:

    (a) Absolutely try to avoid (if at all possible)

    • Meat, fish, eggs
    • Alcohol
    • Very obvious non‑veg gravies, egg‑based cakes, etc.

If you are currently taking any of these because of pressure, try to firmly but politely stop. This is usually the most important first step.

    (b) Next level: try to reduce

If they use onion/garlic or root vegetables in everything, see if below is possible:
    • Ask for:
    - Plain rice, dal without tadka if possible - Chapati/roti without ghee if you are unsure of its source - Boiled vegetables if they ever make
    • From buffet or mess:
    - Pick items which are simpler and have less mixing (plain curd, salad, rice, plain roti, simple sabji). - Sometimes you can remove pieces of onion/garlic from top – yes, it is not perfectly Jain, but it is still a reduction of himsā compared to eating non‑veg.

If root vegetables are completely unavoidable sometimes, then:

    • Take them only when you have no real alternative.
    • Keep strong inner feeling: “I do not want to support this, but at present I am helpless. I will reduce this as soon as I get a chance.”

    ---

    3. Try to create small Jain-friendly arrangements for yourself

Even in a strict hostel, often you can still manage a few things on your own:

    • Keep with you (as allowed by hostel rules):
    - Dry fruits (almonds, raisins, cashew, etc.) - Dry snacks you can eat without heating (murmura, khakra, thepla without garlic/onion, chikki, etc.) - Fruits (bananas, apples, etc.) – simple and sattvic.
    • Use these:
    - On days when food is very non‑suitable. - To reduce quantity of mess food (so you eat less of low‑standard food and more of your own).

    If possible:

    • Request permission for a small induction or kettle in your room (some hostels allow this). Then you can make:
    - Simple poha, upma, oats, rice, dal, etc. in a more dhārmic way.
    • Even if they don’t specially cook Jain food, sometimes they can:
    - Keep one simple item separate (plain dal, boiled veg, or rotis without brushing with anything doubtful). - This often works if you explain calmly and once, without demanding many things.

    ---

    4. Communication: ask once, politely, without argument

Even if they “don’t make Jain food”, sometimes it is because:

    • No one clearly explained.
    • They think it is “too much extra work”.

You can try (once or twice) to:

    • Politely explain that:
    - You are vegetarian for religious reasons. - You don’t need anything fancy, only a very simple option: e.g., plain dal/vegetable without onion-garlic, or simple rice/khichdi sometimes.
    • Make clear you respect their system and are not complaining.
    • Accept that after trying politely, if they still refuse, you mentally let go and move to “best possible within the system”.

    ---

    5. Dharma while living with compulsion

When you eat something that is not fully as per Jain rules due to force of circumstances:

    • Before eating:
    - Do a short Namokar Mantra. - Have bhāv: “Let any himsā in this food be as little as possible; I am helpless now, but I wish to live more purely.”
    • After eating, or in pratikraman:
    - Accept, “This was not ideal; I ask for forgiveness and strength to improve in the future.”

This bhāv makes a very big difference in bondage of karma.

    ---

    6. Take care of health and study also

    Jain Dharma never teaches:

    • To damage your health so badly that you cannot study or fulfil basic duties.
    • To become so weak that your mind becomes disturbed and angry.

You are a student; for now, your main duty (kartavya) also includes:

    • Taking care of your health
    • Studying properly
    • Preparing a life where you may later choose a more dhārmic environment.

    So:

    • Avoid extreme fasting or skipping too many meals in such a way that your health and study suffer.
    • Do small, regular spiritual efforts: paath, pratikraman, good company (even online pravachans if possible).

    ---

    7. Plan for the future

If this hostel situation is long-term:

    • Talk with parents/guardians about:
    - Searching for a different hostel or PG in future years (if practically possible) where food is better. - Tiffin services (even if not fully Jain, sometimes they are simpler and more adjustable).
    • As you grow older and more independent, you can choose environments more aligned with your dharma.

    ---

    8. Summary

    1. Stop what is worst (meat, eggs, alcohol) if at all present.
    2. From what remains, choose the least-himsā and simplest items.
    3. Arrange some Jain-friendly dry snacks/fruits for yourself.
    4. Politely request one simple plain item from hostel if possible.
    5. Keep strong bhāv, pratikraman, and Namokar Mantra with each meal.
    6. Protect your health and study, so later you can live even more dhārmic life.

If you share a bit more detail (what exactly the hostel serves), I can suggest even more specific “this-you-can-take, this-you-avoid” guidance.
