What to do in today’s fast world when you have financial stress, but also are aware that its materialistic but when in sansaar nothing works without it what to do even sadhna seems to not work

You are touching a very real Jain dilemma: “I know money is material, but in sansār nothing moves without it. I am stressed, and even sādhanā feels useless.”

Let’s look at this fully in a Jain way, but in simple steps.

    ---

    1. Understand what is really happening (Jain drashti)

    From Jain darshan:

    • Money itself is not paap
Paap comes from: - how we earn (violent / deceitful / exploiting others), and - how much attachment, fear and ego we have towards it.
    • Your financial stress is karmodaya – a phase where certain karmas are giving their fruit.
This does not mean “do nothing.” It means: - Accept: “This is my current karmic result.” - Act: “Let me respond with बुद्धि (wisdom) and समता (equanimity), so I don’t bind new heavy karma.”

Just this shift reduces some inner burning.

    2. Why sādhanā feels like it’s “not working”

    Common reasons:

    1. Expectation of quick outer result

“I am doing jap / pratikraman – why is my bank balance not improving?” Jain sādhanā is mainly for: - reducing krodh, mān, māyā, lobh, - weakening attachment and fear, - purifying bhāva.

Outer situation may change slowly. Inner shānti can come much earlier – but we often miss it because we are only watching numbers, not our mind.

    1. Doing sādhanā with tension, not with surrender

If while doing mantra you are constantly thinking: > “Bas, this should fix my problem quickly” then the mind is still in business-mode, not bhakti-mode.

Try to do even 5–10 minutes with the feeling: > “Jo ho raha hai, karmodaya hai. Main samta se rahega, itna hi mera purushārth hai.”

    1. Very high load, very little spiritual rest

Fast world = constant phone, constant comparison, no silence. Then mind says, “sādhanā is not working,” but actually we are not giving it space.

    ---

    3. Practical Jain steps you can start today

    (A) Inner: sādhanā adjusted to your situation

Even if life is very busy and stressful, do small but steady:

    1. Samayik (short & sincere) – even 10 minutes

    - Sit quietly, no phone. - Breathe slowly. - Mentally repeat: “Jo ho raha hai, karm ka phal hai. Main ātmā hu, paisa nahi.” - Watch thoughts, do not chase them.

    1. Mantra / Stotra for shānti (not for “magic money”)

You may choose: - Navkār Mantra - Uvasaggaharam Stotra (for removal of obstacles, tension) - Logassa

But remember: - Aim: shānti, fearlessness, samta - Not: “quick material gain”

    1. Anuprekshā (right reflection) on:

    - Anitya – everything is temporary; today’s stress will also change. - Asarana – no outer thing (even money) can give absolute protection. - Saṃsār – ups and downs are natural; no one has only udaya, everyone has nidāna also.

These are core Jain reflections that soften the grip of fear and attachment.

    ---

    (B) Outer: Vyavahār side (money + dharma together)

Jain Dharma never says “ignore money completely.” Instead it says:

    1. Earn within maryādā (limits):

    - Avoid clearly hiṁsak or adhārmik ways of earning. - Within your current work, reduce: - cheating, - harmful products/services, - exploitation of others.

    1. Simplify lifestyle (Aparigraha in practice):

    - Many times financial stress is multiplied by: - comparison with others, - unnecessary expenses, - wanting “more and more.”

Consciously reduce: - unnecessary purchases, - social status expenses, - things bought only to impress others.

Each rupee you do not waste is equal to some extra income – and you also reduce lobh.

    1. Responsibility without burning inside

Tell yourself: > “Ghar chalānā, family support karna, ye mera kartavya hai. > Lekin andar se main ātmā hoon, sirf ‘kamāne wāla machine’ nahi.”

Work sincerely, but try to keep inner witness alive: - “I am performing my role; results are under karm + nimitta.”

    ---

    4. When anxiety peaks

When the mind is very heavy:

    1. Do pratikraman specifically for:

    - worry (chintā), - anger at your situation, - jealousy of others’ wealth.

Mentally: > “Je pan dukh ane chinta thi hu anyane dukhi kariyu hoy, e badhā māṭe hu kshamā māgnu chhu.”

    1. Share with a Jain upādhyāy / sādhu / knowledgeable layperson

Sometimes a short, clear guidance from a living person who understands both dharma and practical life helps a lot.

    1. Protect from wrong solutions

In stress people often: - take unethical shortcuts, - go into addictions or dishonesty.

Remember: short-term relief, long-term heavy karma. Better to bear present karmodaya with dignity than to create deeper bondage.

    ---

    5. Summary in one line

    • Do full purushārth in earning ethically and simplifying life,
    • while using sādhanā to keep samta, reduce fear, and avoid new karmic bondage.

    Sādhanā is working if:

    • your reactions become a little softer,
    • anger reduces slightly,
    • you can sleep a little better with trust in karmic law.

Even 1% shift in bhāva is a big spiritual step in this fast world.
