Give an example of Anyatva bhavana
Anyatva bhavana means: “I (soul) am different from body, mind, name, relations and possessions.”
An easy example:
> “This is my body, my name, my family, my house, my mobile. > The one who says ‘my’ is the soul. > Body, name, family, house, mobile – all are other than me.”
So in Anyatva bhavana you reflect like this:
- This body gets sick, becomes old, and will die – but I, the soul, do not die.
- Today these people are called my relatives; in previous and future births they will change – but I, the soul, remain the same.
- Money, property, job, status keep changing hands – they are not me; they are separate from me.
A simple daily contemplation:
> “I am conscious soul (chetan). > Body, thoughts, emotions, relations and objects are not me, they are separate. > I should not get attached to them.”
This is Anyatva bhavana in practice – seeing clear separation between atma and all non‑soul things, which slowly reduces attachment and wrong identification.
