In Jain cosmology, Kapishtha (कपिष्ठ) is the name of a heaven (Devlok) in the upper world (Urdhva Loka).

There are two common ways it is referred to:

1. As one of the 12 Kalpa heavens (Kalpavasi Devlok)

The main Kalpa heavens are: - Saudharma - Ishana - Sanatkumara - Mahendra - Brahma - Lantava - Kapishtha - Shukra - Mahashukra - Satara - Sahasrara - Anata

Here, Kapishtha is one of the middle Kalpa heavens where Kalpavasi devas reside. ( jainknowledge.com)

1. As the 7th Devlok in the simpler list of 7 heavens

Sometimes, for easy understanding, only 7 are listed: 1. Saudharma 2. Ishana 3. Sanatkumara 4. Mahendra 5. Brahma 6. Lantava 7. Kapishtha – described there as the 7th and highest among these seven. ( jainknowledge.com)

Location of Kapishtha Swarg

• It lies in the Urdhva Loka (upper world), above the middle world where humans live.
• It is above Lantava Devlok and below the higher heavens like Shukra, Mahashukra, etc. when all 12 Kalpas are counted.
• Beings are born there due to very punya (meritorious karma), enjoy very high pleasures, long life, and divine powers.
• But moksha is not attained from Kapishtha or any Devlok; liberation is possible only from human birth in Madhya Loka.
