Porsi time in delhi
In Jain Dharma, “porsi” (पोरसी) is a time unit, not a fixed clock time like 9:00 am.
Basic idea:
- 1 घड़ी (ghadī) = 24 minutes
- 1 पोरसी (porsi) = 2 घड़ी = 48 minutes
- From sunrise, the day is divided into such 48‑minute blocks (porsis).
- Many Jain rules for भोजन (eating), उपवास, प्रोषध (posadh), आदि are given as “before/after X porsi from sunrise/sunset.”
For Delhi specifically:
- The exact clock time of any porsi in Delhi changes every day because sunrise and sunset times change daily.
- To know “porsi time in Delhi” for a particular day, you need:
For practical use, people usually:
- Follow a Jain panchang / calendar made for Delhi, or
- Take the daily porsi timings announced in their local Derasar / Jain temple.
If you tell your exact date and whether you want porsi from sunrise or sunset, you can calculate it by adding/subtracting 48‑minute blocks from that time.
