Varshitap parna gift
Varshitap parna is a very pavitra (pure) moment, so the gift should match the bhav of tapa, not become a show‑off or a cause of more attachment (parigrah).
Some simple, shubh ideas:
- Religious / spiritual gifts
- A good Jain pustak (e.g. on Charitra, Pravachan, or Tirthankars) - Small, simple idol of a Tirthankar for their ghar‑derasar - Navkar mantra frame or subtle Jain spiritual quote - Mala (rosary) for jaap, or a small asan (seat) for dhyaan/paath
- Daan in their name
- Donate to Gau‑shala, Jiv‑daya, Panjarapole - Help in Jain pathshala, shastra printing, or temple activities - Support food/medicine for the poor or animals Give the tapasvi a small note: “This daan is done in your tapanumodana.”
- Very simple personal gifts
- White, plain, simple clothes (if they like) - A small diary for swadhyay / spiritual notes - A handwritten letter expressing anumodana and respect for their tapa
- Gifts to avoid
- Very expensive, showy items (gold, heavy decoration, luxury gadgets) - Anything that increases pride, competition, or attachment
Most important is bhav, not budget. Even a small flower with true anumodana bhav is greater than a costly but ahankar‑based gift.
