    Varshi tap chart for 2026

    6 months ago 104

For 2026, I’m not able to give you an exact day‑by‑day Varshi Tap (Varshitap) chart because:

    • The tithis and sunrise times differ by city/country,
    • So the correct beshnā / upvās pattern (where you eat, where you must compulsorily fast, where you do chhat, etc.) will change slightly by location and by the Panchang you follow.

What I can share reliably is:

    1. Basic framework of Varshi Tap

    • Varshi Tap = alternate‑day upvās (no eating on two consecutive days, but you may fast two days in a row if required by tithi like aatham/chaudas, etc.).
    • Duration: 13 lunar months + 13 days, from start tithi to Akshaya Tritiya (Vaishakh Sud/Shukla 3), when parnā is done (traditionally with Ikṣu‑rasa / ganne ka ras).

    2. 2026 start & end (Jain tithi)

According to Jain Panchang references used on JainKnowledge:
    • Start (ārambh) – Chaitra Shukla Ashtamī (Sud 8)
    • End / Parnā – Vaiśākh Shukla Tṛtīyā (Sud 3 – Akṣaya Tṛtīyā)

Exact Gregorian dates (March–April 2026) for your place can only be fixed by a local Jain Panchang or your Sangh’s Varshi Tap circular.

You can read a short clarification about “When to start in 2026 for Varshitap” here:

    3. How to get a precise 2026 Varshi Tap chart

To have a correct chart for your city, do this:

    1. Get a 2026 Jain Panchang (or app) that:

    - Shows Jain tithi with sunrise, - Clearly marks Aatham, Chaudas, Poonam, Samvatsari, etc.

    1. From that Panchang:

    - Mark Chaitra Sud 8 (start) to Vaishakh Sud 3 (parnā). - Mark alternate days as upvās and the in‑between days as beshnā (eating day). - Wherever beshnā falls on restricted tithis (e.g. some follow rule: no beshnā on Sud 5, 8, 14, Poonam, Samvatsari; rules may vary by guru/saṅgh): - Shift that beshnā to the previous or next suitable day as per your guru / Saṅgh’s instructions (this becomes chhat, etc.).

    1. If your local Derāsar or Saṅgh is organizing Varshi Tap in 2026:

    - Always follow their official printed/WhatsApp chart – that is considered the standard for your group.

    ---

Summary: For 2026, Varshi Tap is from Chaitra Sud 8 to Vaishakh Sud 3 (Akshaya Tritiya, parnā). A universal, exact 2026 day‑by‑day chart cannot be given correctly without fixing your location and Panchang, so please use your local Jain Panchang or Sangh’s Varshi Tap chart for the precise beshnā/upvās list.
