In Jain dharma, periods (rajaswala) are seen as a time of ashaucha (ritual non‑sanctity) because of blood‑flow and tiny living beings in it – not because the woman is bad or sinful.

Common Jain practice (especially Shwetambar):

• Day 1, 2, 3 (from bleeding start):

- Do not do: - mandir derasar jaakar murti‑puja / abhishek - aangi, touching idols, taking religious books in hand - You can do: - mental bhakti (prayer in mind) - listen to pravachan, stavans - do swadhyaya by listening (or reading on mobile if your family allows)

• 4th day:

- After taking a proper bath and changing clean clothes, most families allow: - going to derasar - doing normal puja - Some families follow 5 days – this is family‑tradition, not same everywhere.

So, generally after 3 full days of periods, on the 4th day after bath you can start doing normal puja again, unless your own family follows a longer rule (like 5 days). In any case, soul’s shuddhi and bhavna are never stopped by periods – only outer rituals are paused for some days.
