Boiled water kaal after falgun Poonam
After Phalgun Poonam, the season starts becoming hotter, so according to Jain maryādā the kāl of boiled water is generally kept shorter.
For householders (shravak–shravikā) a simple, safe rule is:
- Normal weather:
- Hot / humid weather (after Phalgun Poonam, summer time):
Basic points:
- Boil after sunrise, filter with clean cloth, keep covered in a clean vessel.
- Do not mix old and new water.
- Once its kāl is over, remaining water should be discarded, not drunk.
- Exact rule can vary by saṅgh and Āchārya, so follow the maryādā of your own guru/saṅgh first.
