What to reply to Micchami dukkadam

When someone says “Micchami Dukkadam” to you, the simplest and best reply is:

“Micchami Dukkadam.”

You may also (if you wish) add the forgiveness sutra:

> Khamemi Savve Jiva, Savve Jiva Khamantu Me > Mitti Me Savva Bhuesu, Veram Majjha Na Kenai.

Meaning in simple English: “I forgive all living beings, may all living beings forgive me. I am friendly towards all, I have enmity towards none.”

This reply is appropriate in both Śvetāmbara and Digambara traditions.
