1. If you marry a Hindu

Jain dharma will mainly be concerned with practical dharmic issues, such as:

- Will your life-partner: - Respect strict vegetarianism / no eggs / no alcohol? - Avoid non‑veg cooking at home? - Support you in Paryushan, Ayambil, fasts, temple, samayik? - How will children be raised? - Will they follow Jain principles? - Will they learn Navkār Mantra, Jain ethics, and jatras / tirth‑yatras?

If the Hindu partner is supportive and respectful of Jain dharma, many Jains do go for such marriages today, though families may need time to accept it.

1. Practical guidance as a Marwari Jain

- Be very clear with the other person about: - Lifetime commitment to ahimsā-based food & lifestyle - No compromise on hard liquor, meat, violence-based work, etc. - Try, as far as possible, that: - At least core Jain values are followed in the home. - Children get a Jain religious foundation (pathshala, pratikraman, etc.).

1. Family & Samaj angle

- There is no single uniform rule across all Marwari Jain families. - Some families allow it if: - The partner is vegetarian, - Rituals are kept simple and not against Jain values (no animal sacrifice, etc.). - Others are strictly against inter-faith marriage for social and cultural reasons, not strictly scriptural reasons.

Summary: According to Jain dharma, there is no explicit scriptural ban, but strong preference is for marrying within Jain samaj so that dharma is preserved easily in daily life and in the next generation.
