Stuti while chamar pooja
During Chāmar Pūjā there is no single fixed, compulsory stuti in Jain Āgamas. Different temples and traditions use different hymns. You can safely do either of these:
- Navkār Mantra
Reciting Navkār Mantra while gently waving the chāmar is always correct in any Jain tradition.
- Any Jin Stuti / Stotra
Common choices (especially in Śvetāmbara mūrtipūjak practice) include: - Logassa Ujjuyāre (Logassa Sutra) - Jai Viyarāya Sutra - Chaukkasaya Sutra (stuti of Bhagwān Pārshvanāth) ( jainknowledge.com) - Verses from Bhaktāmar Stotra (for Bhagwān Ādināth) ( jainknowledge.com)
You may choose any one stuti you know well and recite it with shraddhā and shānt bhāva while doing chāmar.
- Simple practical suggestion
- If you are not sure of longer stutis, just repeat Navkār Mantra slowly. - Focus your mind on the vītarāgata, keval‑jñān, and karuṇā of the Tīrthankar while waving the chāmar.
Meaning-wise, Chāmar Pūjā itself is a rajopachār (royal honor) to the Jina, reminding us:
- to keep away inner “insects” – anger, pride, deceit, greed,
- to serve only the pure virtues of the Tirthankaras, not any worldly desire. ( jainknowledge.com)
If you tell me whether you follow Digambar or Śvetāmbara mūrtipūjak, I can write out one short, easy stuti text in that style for you to memorize.
