In Jain dharma, Porshi (Porasi) is a daytime food‑timing and it:

• Starts roughly 3 hours after local sunrise.

- Example: if sunrise is at 6:00 am, Porshi time is around 9:00 am.

• It is counted from that day’s actual sunrise at your location, so the exact clock time changes daily.

Many Jains take a pachchhakhān (vow) such as “Porasim pachchhakhāmi” and eat their first (or only) meal at this Porshi time, as part of aahār‑saṃyam (restraint in food).
