How many tyoes of Manushya yoni are there
In Jainism, “Manushya yoni” (human birth) is counted as:
- 14,00,000 (14 lakh) types of Manushya‑yoni within the total 84,00,000 (84 lakh) jiva‑yoni. ( jainknowledge.com)
This does not mean 14 lakh separate human species with names. It means:
- There are 14 lakh different kinds of human births / birth-places according to Jain cosmology
- Covering all varieties of human regions, families, bodies, karmic conditions, etc.
- All are garbhaja (womb‑born) humans; there is no spontaneous (sammurcchana) human birth. ( jainknowledge.com)
Both Digambar and Shwetambar traditions accept this number (14 lakh Manushya within 84 lakh yonis); scriptures give the count, but do not list all 14,00,000 one by one. ( jainknowledge.com)
You can see this number mentioned in the Saat Laakh Sutra here: Saat Laakh / Saath Lakh Sutra
