In Jain Dharma, going to the temple (derasar) is a very pure and sacred act. Before going to temple, our body, mind, and bhav (inner state) should be as clean and calm as possible.

Regarding sex before going to temple:

• Sexual activity disturbs mental purity and calmness.

After sex, the mind is usually more attached to sensual pleasure, not to bhakti, samayik, or dhyan.

• Traditionally, it is advised:

- Do not go to temple immediately after sex. - First take a proper bath, wear clean clothes, let the mind settle, and then go for darshan. - Ideally, one should avoid planning sexual activity close to times of puja, pratikraman, or temple visit.

• Higher Jain ideal:

For those who want to follow higher vows, especially brahmacharya (celibacy), even within marriage, reducing and gradually renouncing sexual activity is encouraged, as it increases shanti, detachment, and spiritual progress.

So, according to Jain principles, having sex and then directly going to temple is not appropriate. Better: keep temple time as a period of full purity, both sharirik shuddhi (physical cleanliness) and bhav shuddhi (inner cleanliness).
