How to do Bhadra tap in jainism
Here is a simple way to understand and do Bhadra Tap in Jainism.
Bhadra Tap is a special fast (tap) usually of 3 days, done for atma‑shuddhi (soul purification) and kashayon ki shanti (control of anger, pride, deceit, greed).

1. Niyam / Sankalp (Resolve before starting)
Before Day 1, sit calmly in front of a Jin Mandir or picture of Bhagwan and take a small vow:
- I will follow ahimsa, satya, brahmacharya (as per my level), aparigraha as carefully as possible.
- I am doing this tap only for karmakshetra (destruction of karma) and spiritual upliftment, not for name, fame or worldly wishes.
If possible, take this niyam in presence of a sadhu/sadhvi or at least in temple.

Morning
- Snan (bath), wear clean (and simple) clothes.

Daytime
Try to avoid timepass and worldly distractions.Instead do:
- Swadhyaya – read / listen to:

Go to sleep with shuddha bhav: “Whatever I did today, may it become cause for kshay of karma.”

- Then do Parna:
- First take boiled water. - Then take simple Jain food, prepared with full care of ahimsa and without raatra-bhojan etc.
- Offer dandvat / vandan to:
- Jinn Bhagwan - Guru Bhagwant (if present) - Elders and family
Intention: “May this tap become a cause for mithyatva kshay, kashaya kshay and progress towards moksha.”
