“Chhat” in Varshitap means: when an upvās (fast) would normally be a biyāsan / ekāsan day but falls on Chaudash / Samvatsari / very special tithi, it becomes two continuous upvās (Chhat).

The number of Chhat is NOT fixed for every Varshitap. It changes every year because:

• Varshitap always runs from Chaitra Shukla Ashtami to Vaishakh Shukla Tritiya (Akshay Tritiya) in the Jain lunar calendar.
• But the exact combination of tithis, Chaudash, Pakkhi, Paryushan dates, etc. between these two points changes every year.
• Different pañchāngs and different sanghs sometimes have slightly different rules (where to keep Chhat / Aatham / Atthai inside Varshitap).

Because of this, I cannot reliably tell you exactly how many Chhat will come in Varshitap of 2026–2027 without a detailed Jain pañchāng and your local sangh’s niyam.

For an accurate count of Chhat for your Varshitap:

1. Take the official Varshitap calendar / niyam-patra of your local sangh for that year, or
2. Sit with a Jain pañchāng + guru / vidyāratna / panchang-karta,
3. Mark all days from Chaitra Shukla 8 to Vaishakh Shukla 3 and check:

- which biyāsan / ekāsan days fall on Chaudash / Samvatsari / other special tithis, - how your sangh has decided the Chhat and Attham for that year.

Only then can you get the exact number of Chhat for Varshitap 2026–2027 in your city and sect.
