Tirthankaras are revered as spiritual teachers and role models, not as gods who grant boons or answer prayers. Jains worship Tirthankaras out of respect and as an expression of gratitude for their teachings, not out of fear or expectation of favors. Their worship is meant to inspire followers to pursue self-realization and liberation, just as the Tirthankaras did.
