Emperor Samprati Mauraj (Samprati Maurya), the great Jain‑dharmik grandson of Emperor Ashok, is generally accepted by historians to have ruled the Maurya Empire approximately from:

224 BCE to 215 BCE

His reign is especially remembered in Jain tradition for:

• Massive support to Jain monks and Jain sangh
• Construction and renovation of thousands of Jain temples and stupas
• Spreading Jain Dharma in regions like Saurashtra, Maharashtra, Andhra, and south India through shasan‑yatra and protection of Jain acharyas

In Jain literature he is often lovingly called “Jain Ashok” because of his strong devotion to Jain Dharma.
