How to chant parasnath god name
You can chant Bhagwan Parshvanath’s name in a very simple and traditional Jain way.
Here are two easy options:
1) Very short nama‑mantra In Hindi/Sanskrit:
- नमो पार्श्वनाथाय
- नमो श्री पार्श्वनाथाय नमः
In English letters (for chanting):
- Namo Parshvanathaya
- Namo Shri Parshvanathaya Namah
Meaning (arth): “I bow to Lord Parshvanath, the 23rd Tirthankar, who has destroyed all karmas and shows the path of liberation.” ( jainknowledge.com)
2) Uvasaggaharam Stotra – first line (if you want a bit longer) This famous stotra is specially for Bhagwan Parshvanath. You may chant even just the first gatha:
“Uvasaggaharam pasaṁ, pasaṁ vandāmi kamma‑ghaṇa‑mukkaṁ; Visahara‑visa‑ninnāsaṁ, maṅgala‑kallāṇa‑āvāsaṁ.” ( jainknowledge.com)
Very simple arth: “I bow to Lord Parshvanath, free from karmas, who removes all troubles and poisons of life, and is the home of all auspiciousness.”
How to chant (simple way)
- Place: Sit in a clean, quiet place. If possible, in front of Parshvanath Bhagwan’s idol or photo.
- Body: Sit straight, hands joined or in your lap.
- Mind: Think of his pure, peaceful form and his qualities – ahimsa (non‑violence), compassion, detachment.
- Count (if you wish): Start with 9, 21, or 108 times as per your capacity. Regularity is more important than big numbers. ( jainknowledge.com)
- Time: Morning or evening is good, but any time with true devotion is fine.
Both Śvetāmbara and Digambar traditions accept these simple Parshvanath nama‑mantras and Uvasaggaharam Stotra; there may be small pronunciation differences, but the bhāva (devotional feeling) and meaning are the same. ( jainknowledge.com)
