    Shri Aashapuran parshwanath story

    5 months ago 93

Here is a simple, devotional story of Shri Aashapuran Parshwanath Bhagwan:

In Rajasthan, in a quiet village named Nun (near Sirohi), there is an ancient Jain tirth called Shri Aashapuran Parshwanath Shwetambar Jain Tirth.

The Moolnayak (main idol) of this temple is:

    • Bhagwan Aashapuran Parshwanath
    • White in colour
    • About 43 cm high
    • Sitting in Padmāsan (lotus posture)
    • With an umbrella of 7 serpent-hoods above the head

    Why the name “Aashapuran Parshwanath”?

“Āshā-pūran” means the One who fulfils (pūran) the hopes/wishes (āshā) of true devotees.

    It is believed that:

    • Worshipping this seven-hooded Aashapuran Parshwanath removes seven main fears of life
(like fear of illness, poverty, enemies, calamities, etc.)
    • Those who come with shraddhā (faith), do Darshan, Pūjā, Swādhyāy, and try to live by Jain principles, experience inner peace and feel their problems getting solved in a spiritual way.

    Ancient history of the place

    • Long ago, Nun was not a small village, but a prosperous Jain city.
    • Around Vikram Samvat 1100, the Jain Sangh built this temple.
    • Over time, the nearby villages became almost empty of Jain population, many places became deserted.
    • But this one temple of Aashapuran Parshwanath remained, like a silent witness of that old glorious time.
    • The temple has been renovated many times whenever the city was prosperous.

Even today, though the area is quiet and not very crowded, devotees still experience divya (divine) shakti here.

    Faith and miracles

    • Many pilgrims say that when they come with strong faith and do prārthanā (prayer) in front of Aashapuran Parshwanath, their difficult works become successful and worries calm down.
    • This is why Bhagwan here is lovingly called “Aashapuran” – the fulfiller of noble wishes.

    Annual fair

Every year, a mela (fair) is held at this tirth on:

    • The 10th day of the dark half (vad dashami) of the month of Pausha.

On this day, many devotees gather, do:

    • Snatra pūjā,
    • Panch Kalyanak pujan,
    • Bhakti, stavan, aarti,
and remember the great compassion of Bhagwan Parshwanath, the 23rd Tirthankar.

    Scriptural and other references

    • The name Aashapuran Parshwanath is mentioned in “365 Shri Parshva Jin Naammala”, a stavan with 365 names/forms of Shri Parshwanath Bhagwan.
    • A metal idol of Aashapuran Parshwanath is also installed on the first floor of the beautiful Sabarmati–Ramnagar Jain temple in Gujarat.

    ---

    In short:

Shri Aashapuran Parshwanath is not a different Tirthankar, but a special, compassionate form of Bhagwan Parshwanath, worshipped at Nun (Rajasthan), where devotees strongly believe that with right faith, vow, and purity of conduct, their fears are removed and noble wishes are fulfilled.
