    Shantinath dada qualities are what?

    5 months ago 106

Shantinath Dada (Shantinath Bhagwan) is the 16th Tirthankar. His main “qualities” (gun) that we remember are:

    1. Shanti (deep peace)

    - He is called “Shantinath” = Nath (Lord) of Shanti (peace). - His very name and life show inner shanti, without krodh (anger), maan (ego), maya (deceit), lobh (greed).

    1. Ahimsa (perfect non‑violence)

    - No hurt by mind, speech, or body to any jiv. - He taught gentle behaviour, forgiveness, and compassion for all living beings.

    1. Samyaktva (right faith), Samyak Jnan (right knowledge), Samyak Charitra (right conduct)

    - As a Tirthankar, he had complete faith in tattvas, perfect omniscient knowledge (keval‑jnan), and absolutely pure conduct. - No delusion, no mithyatva.

    1. Vairagya and Tyag (detachment and renunciation)

    - Left his royal life and all pleasures very calmly. - Showed how to live in the world but stay unattached.

    1. Kshama (forgiveness) and Maitri (friendliness)

    - No revenge, only forgiveness. - Equal friendliness to friend and enemy; same drashti towards all.

    1. Upkar / Karuna (benefiting all souls)

    - By giving deshna, he opened the path of moksha for countless jivas. - His dharma helps beings reduce karma and move towards liberation.

    1. Shuddhata (purity) and Aparigraha (non‑possessiveness)

    - No inner or outer possessiveness. - Mind always in the pure soul (shuddh-atma-bhav).

Because of these, remembering Shantinath Bhagwan brings shanti in mind and helps us reduce anger, fear, and tension.
