In this situation, two things are important from a Jain point of view: (1) Maryada / Sharam (modesty) and (2) Ahimsa & Samyam (non‑violence and discipline).

If a Bal Sadhu’s clothes are stolen while he is outdoors, the right approach is:

1. Immediately protect modesty in any possible way

- Use whatever is available nearby that is not alive and will not cause himsa: - a towel, shawl, extra cloth, - a bedsheet, blanket, - or even a large non-living object as temporary cover (like wrapping with a spare bag cloth etc.). - The first duty is not to remain exposed; Jain maryada is very strict on laaj/sharam.

1. Seek help calmly, without krodh (anger)

- Go to the nearest safe place (ashram, Upashray, Jain house, or trusted person) while remaining as covered as possible. - Explain briefly and politely that the clothes were stolen and you need temporary covering or replacement clothes. - Do not shout, curse, or blame; maintain sanyam bhav.

1. Inform your Guru / Acharya / Shikshak

- As soon as possible, report the incident truthfully to your Adhyapaka / Guru / Acharya whose guidance you follow. - They will decide: - what prayaschitta (atonement) is needed, if any, - how and from whom clothes should be taken, - what rules of your particular sangh / tradition apply.

1. Do not take anything by stealing or force in return

- Just because someone stole your clothes, you must not answer with any form of adharma (stealing from others, getting violent, speaking harshly, etc.). - Maintain inner peace, remember that this is the fruit of past karmas, and respond with dharmic conduct.

1. Maintain inner bhav of Sadhu-dharma

- Repeatedly bring your mind back to: - Samiti (careful movement, speech, taking things), - Gupti (control of body, speech, mind), - and pratikraman (introspection and repentance for any faults before/after the event).

In short: Cover yourself with whatever non-living cloth/object is honestly available, go calmly to a safe place, get help respectfully, immediately inform your Guru/Acharya, and accept their decision with obedience and shanti.
